One of John's hobbies is acting.  John is a member of SAG - Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. John worked for many years towards becoming best actor in any catagory.    Though John is an accomplished theater actor and a very funny comedic actor, John has never had a speaking part in film or television.  If you go to http://www.IMDB.com  you will not find John McQuilkin in any catagory!  John enjoys acting very much, but enjoys real estate because of the challenges it presents and the sense of control over his career that real estate offers.  As an actor, John  is at the hands of casting directors.  Actors have very little control over their careers.  John has also tried his hand at stand up comedy and improvisation comedy.  John loves Improv comedy.   John is always more than happy to give advice to new actors just starting out.  John loves independent films.  Films like 2 days in the Valley, Go, and any film by Christopher Guest.  John say's Jennifer Coolidge rocks.  John matured in the eighties so any Molly Ringwald flick is a top pic. Molly Ringwald, John McQuilkin wants you to return to independent film, and bring Alley Sheedy with you.  A few of John's favorite movies are A Room with a View, Echo Park and The Usual Suspects.  John feels Kevin Spacey is one of our best actors.  John even admits to owning all three Angel films.  Yes there were three!  Angel, Avenging Angel and Angel III The Final Chapter.  If you can recommend any off beat or quirky films please email John and give him the titles.  John's role model when he was younger was John Ritter from Three's Company.  John McQuilkin patterned his acting after the incomparable John Ritter.  John McQuilkin was friends with the late Lani O'Grady from the tv show Eight Is Enough, and misses her greatly.  Lani O'Gradys brother is Don Grady from the tv show My Three Sons.  Their mother is Mary Grady the Founder of the Mary Grady Talent Agency - MGA.  When John McQuilkin is not working he enjoys watching hgtv.  See hgtv's schedule at  http://www.hgtv.com   He recommends the following shows,  HGTV Curb Appeal, HGTV Designed to Sell, HGTV Designers Challenge, HGTV Landscapers Challenge, HGTV Mission Organization, HGTV Homes Across America, HGTV House Hunters, HGTV What You Get for the Money.  John McQuilkin hopes one day to be asked to host a show on hgtv.  John McQuilkin's real estate expertise and past broadcasting experience would make him a great hgtv show host.  In addition to hgtv John McQuilkin also enjoys tlc network.  http://tlc.discovery.com   The following tlc shows are some of his favorites.  TLC Trading Spaces, TLC Clean Sweep, TLC Flip that house.  John also enjoys ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition. John has often been called the pigeon whisperer for his uncanny ability to calm pigeons.  John loves watching Animal Planet.  http://www.animal.discovery.com  especially Miami Animal Police.  John is often called the realtor to the stars or celebrity realtor but notes he's everyones realtor.  John would love to use his real estate skills and past broadcasting experience to host a show, especially on hgtv, tlc or the style network.  If you're looking for a host for your show, John is the one you want.
